In 2003 the Editor, Tony Phillips, planned a trip with a friend by road from San Francisco California to Tierra Del Fuego (Argentina and Chile). Apart from the raw thrill of travel, a 4×4 epic of 50,000 Km’s, 20 countries, and three oceans, there was also the learning experience, something both political and cultural.
The first phase of Project Allende was this two year trip named after both Salvador Allende and Isabel Allende, two great Chileans in the realm of Political Economics and Magical Realism. The second phase began with completing a Masters Degree in MERCOSUR the public university UBA. In order to begin to get an inkling into Abundancia in Abya Yala one literally has to place one foot in front of the other and run!
