The younger Milei fans are mostly working class. They voted against the economic slump and corruption that comes with low wages and high inflation as epitomised by the nationalist social democrats; the divided Peronist factions. Many voted for Milei even after their lives had become harsher as the economy shrank under his government. Milei’s support waned a little but continues to critique Milei’s destruction of the health service — notably the Garrahan Central children’s hospital and the treatment of poor pensioners.

Corruption in Markets is really a problem not just for libertarians, but for the extreme right in general. A market cannot be a corrupt because markets are perfect. Just in the first six months of Trump’s second term he and his family made over 3 Billion dollars out of crypto investments. There were also sharp movements on the stock markets just before he announced his import tariffs.
